Andrew,
           Are you still upgrading the Dianemo systems based on 7.10? Do you recommend I should update my system to 10.10 to gain access to the additional features?

Tnanks

Duncan

Hi Duncan,

Sorry for the very slow response to your message above... somehow your message slipped by my email filter.

Yes we are still upgrading 7.10 systems to 10.10 as customers either need to update or request an update. I would recommend upgrading if you would like to get access to the new features and updated existing capabilities like MythTV & Asterisk/FreePBX etc.

I will take a look at your system and let you know what the cost will be. Essentially we charge the £249.95 Software license charge plus a variable amount based on how much work is involved in moving your existing hardware to the new release (depends on the scope of the system).

I will get back to you Duncan later today.

All the best

We have released an update to the Dianemo Orbiter for iOS devices. Version 1.5 incorporates big improvements in responsiveness and performance making interacting with the UI much more fluid, integrates the Kmotion IP CCTV and MythWeb into the Orbiter in a WebKit views that are accessible from new buttons in the Icon bar, display dynamic UI elements - the videos below demonstrates scrolling datagrids working in the Audio & video Media Browser. The Orbiter automatically detects screens with datagrids and displays those parts of the screen as dynamic scrollable views that support all the standard iOS touch based UI conventions. One of the cool new features of this new interactive capability is that it will work with your existing UI skins right away. Version 1.5 is awaiting approval by Apple now and should appear as an update on or around the 16 Jan.

Dianemo's iOS Orbiter v1.5 is a free download from the Apple App store and will work with both Dianemo & LinuxMCE systems (Some features will not be available under LinuxMCE - Secure Remote Access, Dynamic UI, Kmotion, MythWeb)

Dynamic UI is not usable under LinuxMCE? Is that the datagrid scrolling? The current Dianemo Orbiter for iOS, does support it, doesnt it.

Hi... somehow missed this post.

The Dynamic UI layer is an optional setting in the Dianemo iOS Orbiter App. With it on you get dynamic datagrid scrolling in any UI1 screen. Yes the new iOS Orbiter App v1.5 that was released on the App store late last night supports it but this release has a number of enhancements under the hood that significantly improve the performance of the Orbiter and add's support for Webkit views for MythWeb & Kmotion directly in the Orbiter App itself. On iPhone and iPod Touch the gesture activated Tab bar UI also can now be customised so that your most used tab functions can be always available on these devices where there is far less screen width for the bar.

All the best

Hi Andrew,

Nice features added to the Dianemo iOs-app, great work.
Is there a save-button that i am missing?
Because when i rearrange the tab-bar buttons, then close and open the app, the tab-bar shows again its default configuration?

Thanks Raymond.

Currently there is no way to save the rearranged Tab bar. I expect we will support it in upcoming update though.

Hi Andrew,

If my memory serves me right, you guys where developing/looking into a new hardware Media Director/Manager.
You asked if there where people who would be interested to buy it in a batch (with lots of people at once)

Are there any updates or progress in this project?

I recently got a new TV and i am in for a new MD Wink

As you know we do have something in development but it will not be shipping until later this year. For the time being, depending on your needs, something based around Atom/Ion2 or a full sized mobo with a modern nVidia graphics card would be my recommendation.

We have released an update over night;

- uPnP has been updated to allow you to show/hide the uPnP browser. Apply the update then do a Full Regen & reload. Now you will find a new tick box option at the bottom of the page in Web Admin -> Wizard -> Basic Info -> Installation; "Enable UPnP media browsing (experimental):". tick this box to display the uPnP browser screens and un-tick to hide them - no regen or reload is needed to switch back and forth. This feature is global to all Media Managers.
- DVD Ripping; We have fixed a long time bug in DVD ripping (inherited from pre 07.10 releases) that would previously mean that whatever you renamed your rip to the Media Browser would only show the originally ID'd name for the disc... even though the .dvd file itself would be renamed correctly. This is now fixed and both the Media Browser and the on disc file name are in sync.

All the best

We have tonight gone live with the capability to install Dianemo S on either Ubuntu 10.10 or Ubuntu 11.10. We have been testing Dianemo S on 11.10 for some time and have been building packages for both Ubuntu 10.10 & 11.10 in parallel of course to achieve that. However there still may be some unforeseen issues under 11.10 so please be aware of that when deciding which version of Ubuntu to use. Having said that we are confident that our 11.10 builds are working well and if we do hit any issues we will of course fix them asap.

So as of now you can install a clean system on either Ubuntu 10.10 or 11.10 and we support the in-place upgrade of an existing Dianemo S installation to Ubuntu 11.10 (see below for info of where to find the new wiki page)

Because of the work we have been doing to smooth the way to support for Ubuntu 11.10 we do expect to have early support for Ubuntu 12.04 once it is released - we hope to have that in place about 10 days after 12.04 is released.

Please see the expanded installation section of the 'renamed' Dianemo S wiki page;

Great work! I'll try an upgrade asap.
Do you think this upgrade (from 10.10) could be done headless? My core is in a basement without a monitor  Cheesy
Best regards

Hmmm... that should be ok. Console access is all you need.
