To Any Developers: I need a TOSEC ROM Name Parser.
« on: September 07, 2009, 09:39:46 pm »
As I am working on adding support for ROMs from vintage console systems, I need support for a number of ROM filename nomenclature standards.

Most notably, I need a parser for Cowering's GoodTools processed roms, and I need one for TOSEC.

It doesn't matter what language it's in, so long as it's part of LMCE already, and can CORRECTLY parse the format specified in this document:

http://www.romcenter.com/datafiles/tosec/tosec_naming_convention.htm

If you guys can help, I would be eternally grateful and it would make multi-system emulation on LinuxMCE a much smoother experience by creating a way to automatically tag ROMs and find pictures to attach to the media.

Thanks,
-Thom

Hi Thom, i'm not so into classic arcade name, but i think a parser is a good training for my Python, even if i could use it.

Then i need more info, but i think i can take it.
