Installing latest Nvidia Driver on M3N-78VM
« on: July 31, 2009, 01:02:10 am »
Hello everyone !

I tried everything i could find on the forum and wiki, but nothing worked so far... so pleaze help ;-)

Trying too upgrade the nvidia drivers too the latest version on my md´s.

I SSH´d too the md´s but as soon as i input telinit 1 .. it disconnects from the md and i can´t install the driver anymore.

Could someone point me in the right direction?

Cheers

You would need to connect to the MD not with ssh cause init1 is like save mode in Windows.
you would need to use a keyboard and screen on the MD

you might try a telinit 3 instead, that should be multiuser without X.

Hi,

Instead of ssh why don't you just, from the Core login a root - sudo su - then,  chroot /usr/pluto/diskless/XX where XX is the diskless MD's number.

You will be root@dcerouter:/#

You can do what you want there and the MD doesn't even have to be running!

When you are finished type exit to return to Core root prompt dcerouter_10000XX;

Just a note....Both the Core & MD's must all be either 32bit or 64bit if you use chroot to access the MD's file systems.

Firstly thanx for all your Tips..

I managed too install the Nvidia Drivers on the MD.. but still no luck getting the new NVIDIA driver on the MD working.

I´m running in an API Mismatch Error if i start X... i tried the link with the Api Mismatch workaround.

If i delete the Xorg.conf just for fun.. X Starts but without OpenGL Support.

Anybody managed too update the MD´s too the latest Nvidia drivers?? I´m totally stuck.

Cheers
