Hello,
First of all, I think you guys are doing a fabulous work. Keep going!
Since I really want this project to grow and flourish, I want to help with something.
My biggest hobby is to build websites (program, and design (though I am not a designer and hence don't know how to design complicated things...)).
I noticed that there is a on going effort to upgrade the current website, so I would like to help.

Looks really nice. Might need to proof read as the grammer is abit off, i'm the last one that shoudl point it out as mine is really poor, but i think the text needs checking as some of it don't sound right You are watching your favorite movie and it is getting hotter and hotter? Why wouldn't you let LinuxMCE control your temperature and your blinds in your home automatically? In the morning the blinds go up and in the evening automatically down. To much sun in your Living Room while watching TV. Don't care about LinuxMCE will do for you!
The last sentance should read, "Don't worry about it, LinuxMCE will do it for you" Just little things like that will make people question us abit  |

I agree with Spoonhead, both about the look of the site and the grammar / spelling  I particularly like the way the menus animate at the top of the screen. Very nicely done! One quick question though.... You have a login to the site. Is this for the Forums, the Wiki or both? I've often wondered why, with so many sites sporting both a forum and a wiki, none have ever managed to unify the login to both..... |

Thanks for the feedback.... hey, you all are "allowed" to send me your corrections :-) surely it can be possible to bridge all three website. that has to be discussed, whether it is needed or not. As far as i know, there is a bridge to the SMF Forum and a bridge to mediawiki/wiki. So it would be no problem at all. But after all, it should be filled with content first, before we make it even better..... |

In that case i can probably stop updating the feed i started and just watch the official one (if its updated regularly)

Site's design is looking really good!
I surfed in the site and wrote some notes, tell me what you think:
As the features of LinuxMCE are the most important thing when choosing it over other media centers, I think that they should be on the front page. Hence, put:
* Media
* Telecom
* Security
* Lighting
* Climate
in the front page in the slideshow area. Slide for each feature, contains the text from their feature page and some image.
Since LinuxMCE requires actually an OS installation, the download page should contain links for downloading LinuxMCE and link to a detailed installation instructions page. IFrame with the wiki inside is tedious and should be avoided (IMHO).
I think that the download page should contain download links and instructions for stable releases only. It is possible to add a link in the bottom which links to the wiki where all testing releases are documented.
It should be clear for people come to the site what LinuxMCE is, what it does, and how to download and install.
System Requirements should also be in the website with a page of their own, so one can find them fast (through the upper menu).
And, what about the developers area. It lakes very important data. Maybe it should include a brief review of the development aspects and link to the wiki for more information on how to offer help in the development process.

Im about half way through a newbie style user guide for 0810 (currently in open office format). This could be linked somewhere as a guide for people to download with MCE (or where ever you think it fits the layout of your page).
Once this guide is complete I will then be focusing back in on the wiki to try and tidy up which entries are suitable for which version of Linuxmce.
If you would like to look at the rough cut of the user guide i am putting togeather I am willing to email it, just let me know.
