Having always used myth, I tried VDR out the other day (am in the UK). I managed to get it working on my core relativiely easy (using the wiki) using the Kworld 399Us (again, using the wiki). And I liked it!

However, I didn't realise that further setting up was required for each of the media directors (I always thought that once stuff was working on the core, it would then work on all the MDs!), and this is where progress stopped for me as I have not been able to find any instructions to get this working. Just thought I'd mention it.

If anybody does know of where I might find these instructions, please let me know! Cheers.

Thanks, Zaerc!

That page clearly says it is for 710. Does it apply to 810 as well (i.e. it's an old page) or is it the case that VDR didn't come "boxed" with 710, but does with 810?

vdr is part of 0710 but is as completely integrated and MD setup is not automatic

That's fantastic, thank you.

One question; this page refers to a clean 0710 amd64 installation, whereas I have just installed the 32 bit version. The reason for this (having always used the 64 bit version in the past) is that the .deb for the V4L update (referring to this page http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Kworld_KW-DVB-T_399U) is 32 bit. Will I still be able to follow these "VDR Manual Install" instructions with a 32 bit installation?
