Best practice Dutch Digital TV Providers

As my new house is becoming more and more my house, after intense construction,
I have finally come to the stage of ordering ISP + COAX.
As I would like to have digital television, and I am very scared of ordering the wrong system.
My research shows for instance that the wired KPN system is very restricted, and wireless system not an option.
Without reinventing the wheel I would like to ask Dutch users of LinuxMCE the following.

• Wich digital television system are you using
• Are you happy with it?
• Did everything work out of the box?
• Which equipment did you use?

Maybe we can make a wikipage from your/our findings.

1. UPC analog and digital
2. No. I still have black and white, but sometimes color.
3. No. Mythtv setup is quite a hassle, at least for 0710. It would be the same for any other mythtv setup in The Netherlands, but still. You need to do a lot of manual work for channels, at the very least the channel numbers and frequencies. Although there are some tools to automate some of that, see http://www.mythtv.nl.
4. Hauppauge pvr350 and 150. Struggling to get both to work!

Perhaps someone else has set it up properly, but I feel my setup is not offering me all that it could. Yet. 

BTW I am considering satellite, DVB-T (digitenne), and also kind of discarded KPN's TV over internet...

But not undoable. Just make sure you start out easy. One capture card, one source, about three channels, and see what happens.

1) UPC analog
2) Yes, I would not say its the same as digital but my recorded tv is near to perfect
3) Nope, had to setup Myth which is not difficult if you have done about a thousand times before :-)
4) Using PVR-500 & PVR-150

I use http://code.google.com/p/tvgrabnlpy/wiki/Installatie and have added the channels manually after the initial run (takes about 10 minutes)
What i know is that finetuning Myth on recording levels and so on can give you a better experience.

Just to be stuborn and for the sake of trail and error.
I am going to try to get IPTV, through KPN or Tele2.
I will keep you posted how it works.

Hi,

1) I'm using Digitenne.
2) Sort of happy with it, picture quality is not ideal, but more a shortcoming of Digitenne then Mythtv I would say.
3) Nope not really, although if you have experience with mythtv it's not that difficult.
4) I use 2 dreambox dvb-t 500's connected to 2 pvr-250's in my core.

The hard part was letting the dreambox switch to the correct channels. I connected them to my network and use a little bash script to change the channels on them.
