Hello
The ripped DVD's are saved on my linuxmce in a .dvd extension.
How can for example windows read a .dvd extension file?

A .dvd files is just a .iso file.
Anything that can use such image files can use a .dvd file, although you may need to rename it if it refuses to accept it with the .dvd extension. LMCE will accept these as either .iso or .dvd so it doesn't matter if you do rename it.

so to play a movie in windows for example, i have to burn the .dvd on a DVD disk again?

There are Windows tools available which should be able to mount the disk directly.

videolan client (VLC) plays them like a charm, available for plenty of platforms.

Virtual cd/dvd software such as Daemon Tools or similar can also be used to simulate inserting the actual dvd into a drive.

You can easily use PowerDVD (free version) that simulates as many virtual drives as you like, you just right click and say mount, then select the image. Then you can play it with any DVD player....

tx, i used daemon tools who can read the iso files, but the video is all distorted.
I do see you have the big file wich is movie.dvd , then you have movie.keys.tar.gz and movie.dvd.id3
do i do something with this?

Hari is right.
on your Windows box
Install VLC
Associate the file type 'DVD' to VLC
browse your video directory for 'movie_name.dvd' and double click and you are away.
