E-Data DEC-200B Vista MCE Remote with USB receiver
« on: April 14, 2009, 07:56:01 am »
I have as stated, an E-Data DEC-200B Vista MCE Remote with USB receiver.  From what i had read before buying it, windows MCE remotes were known to work with linux MCE.  I havent yet been able to get LMCE to recognize my USB IR receiver.  I have tried multiple times to add it using the LMCE admin web interface, but no dice.  Has anyone been able to get the provided usb receiver to work?  I could care less about the IR blaster functionality at this point, i just want to be able to navigate the Orbiter UI with the remote.

That particular transciever is not supported. I would suggest getting a USB UIRT transciever from here.. http://www.usbuirt.com/

Please, follow my advice.

Look at this Wiki article I created on adding unsupported IR Tranceivers...you should be able to add support yourself. http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Adding_a_New_MCE_Compatible_Transceiver

All the best
