LiveTV from Motorola PVR: input switching / DCE commands
« on: April 23, 2009, 12:27:50 pm »
The MD connects to my TV on HDMI.
The Motorola DCT3416 PVR connects to my TV on Component.

If I select LiveTV from the webpad when the TV is already on, everything works great. When the TV is off, the media plug in sends all the right commands to turn it on, switch the input etc. but then sends an extra Input Select (HDMI) command. All commands are sent via a USB UIRT and all ir codes are discrete.

Is there a way to change what DCE commands get sent based on the state parameter of the TV?

EDIT: OR... Is it possible to hard-code the state of the TV to always show as ON?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Just a thought,

kind of a hack but if your are using ircodes simply overwrite your off ircode with the ircode for on.

I still want to be able to turn the tv on and off, so I used a different hack, for which I'm sure Thom will flog me: I added a button to the orbiter that sends a power toggle ir code straight to the UIRT without letting the media plug-in know.

Until I can figure out why the media plug-in is sending extra commands, that'll have to do  :-\
