Spanish gui language Done
« on: September 11, 2009, 09:39:59 am »
Dear Friends,

Yesterday i had finished the Gui translation to spanish for LinuxMCE.

I had openend a ticket in the SVN and had uploaded a Sql dump from the Language and Text_LS tables, for you can include it in the new release.

If you need more information just ask.

Nuwis,

thanks.

Please make sure that you can import the dump again into a new database without any problems. Also note, that the new PK_Language will probably change.

For the future, if you announce a ticket that you open, please provide a direct link to that ticket, to help other people in finding the ticket.

Dear All,

The open ticket is:
http://svn.linuxmce.org/trac.cgi/ticket/331

Sorry for not told from the begining.

Also i want to ask somethings more:

1. I think i made a mistake using the language "Spanish" as a number 4 language, should be the 5 including the Italian as number 4, but when i started to do de translation the Italian language was not released and i used the 4 as a ID. Is easy to change the number 4 to 5 to all at same time or should be did by hand again?

2. There are some some Orbiter messages that i did´nt found to translate in the Text_LS table, in exemple:

Message "Powering Off" when you select power off mediadirector from submeno "Power", for me is unable to find and translate.
Main menu "Telecom" is also unable to translate, inside the submenu is translated perfectly, but in the main menu together with all rest of menus, still in english.

3. I´m not a great coder, and i want to contribute to that great LinuxMCE Family, i can contribute regarding the languages, I can translate it to spanish, like is done at 99%, to Catalan and also finish the French translation for release 0810. What i want to ask? meaby somebody should assing the ID for the language and the people that wants to translate this release work directly with the reserved ID for that language upgrading like a main Text_LS stored in the SVN. It is junt an idea.

I found it already, it was a mere pointer for the future.

We have this very cool thing called sqlCVS. It is for a database what cvs and subversion are for source code. If you would have updated your database with sqlCVS beforehand, it would have automagically re-assign the number for the language already. Unfortunately, we have a problem with anonymous commits to the designer repo (the repo where the language is stored), therefore it is a bit cumbersome.

atm I manually massage the language files locally, and commit them via sqlCVS to the main database.

Thnks a lot posde to guide me.

Really a read the post to translate the gui regarding update de SqlCVS, but i missed to do that (What can i do? jejeje). I take a note for the future.
I will wait until the integration of the new language will release update the sql and do another language more.

Regarding that:

You or Somebody nows something anout that?
Sorry if i´m heavy it´s my only way to contribute. In the future i want to be more active for the family.

Unfortunately, some things are still hard coded. nite_man was doing the russion translation, and received some insight about this in another thread.

Hi again Posde

I installed 8.10 from last new installer yesterday and updated the Sql via Sqlcvs, now the language Spanish appear but doesn´t change, take default language from english.
Should i do the translation again with the new id? Now that we are in contact there´s no probem if need to do again the transalation couse now is like "official" included from the main database.

Tell me something, Keep in touch.

No. I will massage your data and update it accordingly.

Posde:

I had updated the Text_LS table according to the new beta 2 and adding the translation from the AV wizard at 90%.
I had opened a ticket: http://svn.linuxmce.org/trac.cgi/ticket/530#preview
But like i told in the ticket a cannot upload it due to oversize reasons, the dump have 383Kb ad the maximum allowed is 264KB.

Thanks in advance
