Mythtv .deb files and other binaries for Debian here ?
« on: April 27, 2006, 12:48:34 pm »
Hi,

I've received interesting email on Mythtv mailing list. It seems that there are .deb files for all of mythtv (including mythplugins - phone, gallery, weather, etc...) here :

http://ftp://ftp.nerim.net/debian-marillat/pool/main/m/

I've asked guy to maybe share his building procedure, but maybe we can include that site in our sources...

I'm particularly after mythplugins (mythweather, mythphone - great SIP video phone, mythgallery (photo viewing application), etc...)

Currently I tried to build mythtv from sources from Plutohome, but rules file lacks mythphone and some other packages building rules, so it doesn't create .deb packages for them...

I think that if Pluto is still to stick with mythtv then it would be small work to include its plugins into Pluto - in this way we could gain video phone or maybe photo viewing application in quite easy way into Pluto.... JMHO...

Any  opinion ?

Regards,

Rob.

The Nerim.net repository is not compatible with our repositories. We took their sources as base for building our MythTV packages, but we branched, in the sense that the MythTV source code is not in sync with Nerim.net's and we make our own decisions on when and what updates we pull in. MythTV also has an extra patch that is custom for our build (available in SVN for interested parties). The other two package sources (themes and plugins), although also present in SVN, aren't built, although their sources are updated when I update MythTV, so there is no guarantee on them.

Link to MythTV in our SVN: http://svn.plutohome.com/pluto/trunk/external/mythtv/
