As we have stated before in numerous threads, Nothing new will be provided for LinuxMCE 0710. That branch is closed.

Nice bitchslap.

How polite.  How would you like to be answered on a newbie question?

Quick, someone find a woman or two that can respond for Thom.  Tie his hands up and destroy all his keyboards!!!!

Leo, the eternal newbie defendant.

Still love you though.

pcbastard - please note Zaerc's comment... your response was pointless in the literal sense, and unhelpful. Thom's remarks were both accurate and not in any way negative, please do not contribute in this way as it lowers the tone of discussions.

As Thom says the 0710 branch is closed and is not being updated/extended now. However that does not mean that you cant work on support for the HDHomeRun DVB-T and work with others to do so under 0710. Then move those over to the 0810 branch later.

All the best

Hi guys,

any updates on HD HomeRun DVB-T under 8.10?
I'm thinking about buying this nice piece of kit for my LMCE setup to get Freeview HD in UK.
Does anyone know if any modifications are needed or would it just work straight from the box with MythTV?

thanks.

We have the HDhomerun working under Dianemo/Cascade & MythTV-0.21 with patches. We're just starting to test MythTV-0.23 and we expect the HDhomerun support to be good in that release. Whether the HDhomerun is PnP under 0810 yet I am not sure.

Hi gumis

I have been running this on LMCE810 and Mythtv0.22 for the last 6 months. it works. Not great but it works. The problems I having is that in New Zealand the channels that are broadcast are different so myth and vpdau is finding it hard to switch between the codecs. Like I said it is working if I don;t channel hop. I am sure this will get better with 0.23.
This is a create piece of hardware so I would say buy it.

Right...you guys in New Zealand have h.264 encoded DVB-T. 0.23 will probably help you as it has better h.264 support built in. MythTV-0.22 is really a pretty crappy version...loads of bugs and internal problems (which is why we've stayed on 0.21 in  Dianemo/Cascade)...however 0.23 is really massively improved and we are transitioning to that version now. I expect that 0810 will do the same pretty soon too.

All the best

Hi Andrew

I have been using avenard repo as I think it was the default when you install LMCE. I just looked on his website that he is dropping the support for 8.10. Is there any other repo I can use for 0.23 to get my testing going as you said there is loads of stuff that would make it better for me on this release. Do you know if LMCE would start adding the myth to its own repo?
I hope there will be good news.. Smiley

We no longer use the avenard repository for this reason, and have started bundling MythTV 0.23 ourselves, this is why there was a massive change to the /etc/apt/preferences file to fix the abusive versioning policies that avenard used.
