if I don't like it then I'm stuck with that type of system and cannot just place a regular light switch on the wall to replace it. The wireless and X10 style systems give me more flexibility. Any recommendations?
what devices you'll use is really up to you, we have support for x10 (CM11A) and wireless (like zwave).
The Convergent Living/CorAccess Companion product looks very interesting (embedded Linux with customizable Flash interface). It works with Lutron and HAI as a controller. Would it be a good option for an Orbiter? What about the MX-3000?
we don't support tablets with linux os, we support only windos based (wince or winxp)
can I just have multiple audio cards streaming audio to a Director to a receiver to the speakers?
yo can use media directors where you have Tv's, monitors so you have an interface and use audio streamers (like squeeze box) for any other rooms where you want only music.
Regarding cabling, the media directors and the core or hybrid requires cat5 cables.
hope it helps,
