Possibly, but it uses ATI video, which is not good! In any case, it is US$300 before freight - you make up an MD much cheaper than this yourself (I'm presuming that you realise that you couldn't use any of the "features" that the Neuros advertises as LMCE would have to completely take over the box?)

colinjones,

is a fairly strong statement. You can get ATI cards to work with lmce. I ran my home theater MD with an ATI card under UI, without a problem.

PS: Granted, nvidia has more features within lmce, but that does not mean, ATI is not a valid choice.

"is bad" is a stong statement. "is not good" I believe is representative of the evidence I have read on the forums. I didn't say it doesn't work, and clearly many have got it to work... for newbies I stand by the statement. I'm certain it will get much better with the recent announcements about drivers....

The main problem with ATI and other video chipsets is that the AVWizard is geared towards nVidia to much, this needs to be addressed in upcoming releases.

Thank you all for your input. I understand that the box would be completely taken over by the Linuxmce Core system. Just curious as to the possibilities of different MD hardware and like to get a more informed decision from those more knowledgeable than myself. I've been around a while (since March 21, 2007) and have been experimenting with my 710 system on and off trying to find the best combination of value and ease of use (wife and kids). I have to temper my desire to tinker with keeping the family happy. Thanks colinjones, posde, and of course the famous/infamous Zaerc  Grin
