Setup

I installed the DVD ver 7.10 64bit
Linux installs and the desktop appears
after the I enable install mce the machine goes through a series of commands and then restarts
the asks me for user and psw once I enter it
the machine does nothing
do I have to type in some command ?

I'm new to linuxmce, but have some ideas that might help others pinpoint your problem:

1) do you see anything on console 8 (press CTRL+ALT+F8), pressing (CTRL+ALT+F7) should take you to the GUI
2) is the display set correctly? http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Troubleshooting#After_installation_my_screen_is_black
