Hi,

Just connected my core/hybrid to the Sony KDL-40L4000 via HDMI and found that strange issue. The UI2 main menu with resolution 1080p (60Hz) and the latest nVidia (177.82) drivers is blinking forever. The subscreens such Advanced or Pending Tasks are displayed fine.

Any ideas why it happens?

TIA

I experienced this using the latest ATI drivers and my on board HD3200 card. Even UI1 was messed up. I fell back to the Nvidia card, however, and now everything is fine. Would be interested to see why this happens. I know my problem was ATI, and would not have expected it from Nvidia, but still, I am pretty sure it is OpenGL and compositing related, and now that the newer chipsets are popping up on these new boards, Nvidia included, I guess we'll have to see how to get it resolved. I spent some time over the holidays playing with the xorg.conf file, and different versions of the ATI driver, but the result was always the same. I always fell back to my Nvidia 7200GS card before the next days production came on line. I will continue to test this, as the weeks progress, and I have also joined their forums to see if I can get any useful info there.

Best of luck to you.

Regards,

Seth

Thanks, Seth, for your replay. I also had some experience with ATI (RadeonTM 1250) but it was positive Smiley I successfully configured UI2 without transparency with 1080p resolution. I used fglrx driver. The only issue was with sound over HDMI. But I expected that nVidia 8300 won't have any problem with HD and UI2. Initially I thought that I set friquency wrongly. But I checked in the TV manual and found that it should be 60Hz. Strange, strange, strange.

It seems that it was a problem with drivers. Somehow they weren't installed correctly. After re-installation nVidia drivers that issue disappeared.
