Video not playing

I got LinuxMCE set up on a hybrid box to test it and see if it's something I'd like to implement. Setup went without a hitch, but whenever I try to play any video files I have on my hard drive they start playing, stop instantly, and then I get dropped back to the main screen with the Flickr slideshow. At first I thought it might be a codec issue, but the video plays fine in the Kubuntu media player.

It's an Xvid AVI file, I'm not sure on anything other than that.

Suggestions?

Sounds like you probably need to do the following: setup wizard -> add software -> install w32codecs (or w64codecs if you installed the 64 bit version of lmce).
