gzip error durring install
« on: December 24, 2008, 05:56:15 pm »
Hello all,

I have been wanting to try LinuxMCE for a long time and just finally bought some decent hardware for myself for x-mas to try it out and am having quite a few issues on the install. The issue is during install it hangs just after it says its:

tar: Read checkpoint 130000
tar: Skipping to next header

gzip: stdin: invalid compresses data--crc

gzip: stdin: invalid compressed data--length error
tar: Child retired status 1
tar: Error exit delayed from previous errors

The install just seems to hang there. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks and Merry Christmas!

run a md5sum directly on the dvd (like "md5sum /dev/cdrom").
