Hi!

First of all, I'm new here, so my name is Christoph and I live in Austria.
Now I'm using a MythTv-System since about 2 years, and it works real good. Now I'm thinking about to change to LinuxMCE, that uses also Myth, but has some nice other features.
In the doco I read that it's not possible with LMCE to read out the states form de EIB. Is that still right

best regards form austria

heh, noch ein oesi :-)

We have three EIB implementations. Two of them can read the states. You'll find more information in the forums and on the wiki.

Well, what do you mean with three implementations?

there is the original driver (http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/EIB), there is a new device from CHT (http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Bash_dce_knx), and there is a driver from guigolum integrating with eibd (see thread in the developers forum).

Hy, my name is Jürgen.

I am the next one from (Upper) Austria! Hallo Jungs!

I'm reading this forum for 3 month.

I'm planning to build a house in the next future (2-4 years). I will have a touch on every floor (2-3) (inwall) (video and audio). Also a touch in the kitchen. An LCD/Plasma in each bedroom (also for children (don't have a child yet, planned Wink )). A Plasma AND a beamer in the living room with an amplifier (Dolby 5.1). Audio in bathroom and toilet. EIB/KNX in the whole house!!! VOIP, IP-Cams, IP-doorstation, ...
For EIB there are other home automation hard/software available, for example GIRA Homeserver, ... (That's the preferred method of some people in the KNX-User-Forum, where i'm also reading each day!)

But first of all, I need some information about LinuxMCE and EIB (-integration). Is LinuxMCE capable to substitude the Homeserver? Has LinuxMCE a good visualisation, where you can change floors, switch on/off lights, close/open blinds, event-depending telegramm dispatching, ...
Or should the Homeserver make the work behind (events,...) and let LinuxMCE be only for visualisation/interaction?

Are there other people from Austria, so maybe I can visit and they will show me their home, where LinuxMCE or EIB (or both) are running?

hi Jürgen,

i'm from Vienna and i have LMCE and EIB running. But with the 704 Version and with no EIB-Read functions. I want to wait for the next release before i start to integrate the Read function.

Berlin is a very nice town and I had duties in the German Parliament. But it is not the final destination for my trip :-)
