I am setting up to attempt a new UI version, but I know that HADesigner is a Windows application. All of my programming machines run Kubuntu. I've tried Virtualbox (not OSE) but it runs very slow. Is there a better program that I can use to run my Windows apps?

I'm looking to have the fastest running virtual machine and need some feedback on if VMWare, or Win4Lin, or Xen is the fastest native solution for virtualization. Any suggestions or applications that I missed?

In my experience Virtualbox seems just fine for a MD, I wouldn't expect XP+HADesigner to be all that slow.  You do need to split memory well so you don't cause the host or client to page excessively.  I have 2G ram and split it evenly.  I also did the custom video driver stuff which probably makes a noticeable difference.

I run HADesigner in VirtualBox as well.

HADesigner does run in Mono, but some things need to be fixed, System.Data.Odbc is a lot stricter on constraints than Microsoft.Data.Odbc.
