Intermatic HA07C Home Settings Wireless Master Remote Control

Questions from a newb.

I haven't invested a dime yet in LinuxMCE nor it's implementation. I am just trying to wrap my head around this potentially beautiful, beautiful concept.

I'm looking at ZWave Light Dimmers and Receptacles.

On the Amazon site they say that you need a Intermatic HA07C Home Settings Wireless Master Remote Control in order to operate the devices. What I am wondering is with LinuxMCE, do you STILL need these Master Remote Controls? Or does LinuxMCE control these devices somehow? And if so, HOW? Is this where the GC-100 devices come in? Or am I just confused?

Can someone help a confused N00B out?

The GC-100 is a special device which contains serial port(s), IR and Sensor ports, and optionally, relay control ports. It is intended to connect more traditional home automation parts into LMCE directly (contact closure sensors etc.) I've used it for a variety of different uses from connecting door and window sensors, to connecting multi-zone IR control for TVs, etc.

As for Z-Wave, master controllers are still needed for most Z-Wave interfaces. One of the exceptions is Mi Casa Verde's excellent all-in-one Z-Wave USB stick that has an inclusion controller built in.
