Installing Restricted Software problem (solved)
« on: January 15, 2009, 06:39:19 pm »
Hi trying to install all codecs needed to play windows content and DVD´s.

Followed the wiki.
http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Restricted_Software_Installation_Guide

Get the following message in my console.
linuxmce@dcerouter:~$ sudo apt-get install kubuntu-restricted-extras
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
E: Couldn't find package kubuntu-restricted-extras

When searching I only find on the desktop kubuntu-restricted-extras.desktop. Am I doing something wrong. Just installed version 7.10 RC2

Why aren't you just running the house wizard and installing the win codecs and dvdcvss from the list?  You just have to click the ones you want and it will dl and install them without command lines.  Same applies for all of your MD's.
