Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone has tried this board in a media director. http://www.mini-box.com/Hybrid-C7-1G_2 Looks good, has gigabit, integrated geforce 8500 with DVI out, 6 channel sound etc.

I am looking at getting one, because I can get a cpu for this very cheap.

This board look nice.
But two fans? How much power does it need to run?

I can see two problems/issues.
First the builtin gigabit. You probably need a newer driver than whats in 0710.
For the onbard nVidia, mot likely you need to install latest nVidia driver package.
None of above is a showstopper.
With lmce 0810(in alpha release now) it will probably work out of the box.

Other than that it look very nice and is also prepared for the future hardware accelerated HD decoding(Like PureVideo for Linux) stuff that nvidia have released info about.

I bought one at newegg with the CPU combo they had, now I just need to find a small case that can be VESA mounted!  I see one at logicsupply (http://www.logicsupply.com/products/t_3310) but I can't find a CPU fan that will fit in such a small space (that works with an AMD mount).

Dear Nosebreaker,

Please share your experience with this board as soon as you've had a chance to fire it up as an MD.

Thank you,

Larry

Looks like an very interesting motherboard. We've not tested it but other than the nic issue already mentioned by Niz23 I would say there is every chance this will work fine.
