I am a Linux MCE Newbie. I don't have a computer with a clean HDD, so want to use Wubi 7.10 to install Kubuntu 7.10 and then install LinuxMCE 7.10. Can I do this? Any issues?

Thanks.

That will most likely not work for you need a clean  kubuntu 0710 install, or use the DVD which installs kubuntu along with lmce.
Be aware the dvd install will wipe the contents of your hard disk.

I don't want to wipe out the contents of my HDD

1. I want to use Wubi 7.10 + Kubuntu 7.10
2. Once I install Kubuntu, I will use the 2 CDs to install MCE (not the DVD, DVD will wipe everything on my HDD, CDs won't)

I want to know where am I wrong, if I want to pursue this?

Thanks.

Thanks. But, may I know why it won't work??

The "Two CD Installer" section clearly states something what I said earlier. In theory, I think it should work. But if you say it doesn't, can you let me know why?

I just want to clarify the possibilities before I get down to do stuff.

Thanks.

I'm one of the developers.

We require a specific system state before instal
lation. If you install other packages, particularly packages that alter basic system functionality, you will break your system in half when our installer runs.

you have been warned.
