Hi all. VDR for LinuxMCE 0710 is finally available. Precompiled binaries for 32- and 64-bit is available below. http://updates.linuxmce.org/addons/vdr-LMCE0710-10.tar.gzInside the tar.gz there is a readme file with the first draft of "how to install vdr on lmce0710". Updated install instructions will be available shortly in our wiki at, http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/VDRMain focus for this version is liveTV functionality on your MDs. - Stability
- Better mapping of buttons for MCE remote. See VDR wiki page.
Tests done so far indicate that it is stable but with some minor problems. For example: - DonŽt press ESC when watching liveTV. YouŽll get a black screen and need to restart VDR on your MD.
- One tester have reported that after watching livetv he could not watch a video without a restart of his MD.
There is still a couple of things that need to be done before everything is fully integrated. - Better integration with LMCE UI.
- Support for more remote controls.
After installation. Remember that you need to have exactly the same channels.conf file on all your machines (both core and MDs) otherwise you may get "channel not available" etc. Please use this post to provide feedback of your experience with VDR on LMCE0710. /niz23

Hi All,
I looking forward to trying this as i have had some issues with mythtv and getting the epg working properly here in oz. However i note indulis has worked out a way to solve this problem as well. Will play and post results when i can. Excellent work.

Is working whit Free2Air channels, but how to get it work whit sasc-ng? Have tried to add -D 1 to VDR start options, without luck. It locks the VDR on core, so i need to restart it before channels work again. Someone?
Thnx for the new VDR /mami

Have not tried that plugin. I guess that plugin is shipped with ubuntu as standard. It might work. If not, you have to compile your own version of it. Download the source and build it as you do with other vdr plugins. /niz23

Hi niz,
*please be gentle with me *
have installed as per instructions, vdr working on core -1 where's the language setting ?
md showing same channels as core thro ui2, osd showing default channels, and No Signal,
so , - 2 where should channels .conf be on md ?
"Core.... in /etc/vdr/plugins/streamdev.conf........" no file exists so -3 create new file ? or , should that have read streamdevhosts.conf,? which did include that line.
Apologies for being so thick, thanks in advance, Ian

1. Select Setup from the VDR menu to enter the setup menu. There is an option - Language, which defines the language used for OSD texts. 2. channels.conf should be in the same place as in the core - /etc/vdr/channels.conf 3. You should use streamdevhosts.conf.

I have used that plugin when i made my own tv-htpc (debian) whit own compiled vdr +plugins and it worked perfect. I really need that plugin for subtitles here in Finland (europe!). /Mami

The focus of the dev team currently is mainly on Orbiter UI integration and the back end. The vdr sources used are 100% clean with no changes from the 1.6 stable release. So there is no reason for any plugin that is compatible (and stable) with vdr-1.6.x to not work. All the best Andrew

I shall try compiling ttxtsubs later again, but i need to patch vdr source too.
Niz23: Can you repack all vdr sources you have used in a file (tar.gz!), so shall i try to patch it for ttxtsubs and compile.
/Mami
