Just got my first diskless media director up and running properly (having only played with it briefly previously), and everything seems to be working fine...

EXCEPT the DVD drive won't read data disks. Is there a reason for this? It plays proper DVDs just fine, but when I put in a data disk, it tries to mount it, a progress bar comes up which stays on 0% for a few seconds, and then it dissapears.

Any ideas guys? Is this a known problem?

the DCE Disk_Drive device currently does not mount data disks.

Thanks for the reply.

How come I am able to mount disks on the core (only when I'm using the dektop - can't do it using the orbiter), but not at all on the media director?

because on the core in the desktop, the standard filesystem mount is used. while on the media director, only the DCE Disk Drive device is used to deal with the drive. You must understand, the Orbiter ONLY deals with DCE devices, and what they expose.
