How to setup Insteon PLM to use GC100 serial port
« on: August 28, 2008, 09:34:26 pm »
I am sure this is probably a simple question, but I have completed the Insteon PLM configuration all except the COM Port setting.

I have no serial port on the current core, but I do have a GC100 with a serial port.

How do I get the Insteon PLM setup to use the GC100 serial port?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You should have an "/dev/tty_S_##_#" to choose, where ## is the device number of the gc100 and the #'th serial port.

Zaerc,

Thanks, I found it as you said.  I knew it had to be simple!

Now, I can complete the Insteon setup.  I have been putting it off since my previous 4 failed attempts to follow the Wiki setup.  Thanks to williammanda's updates the the Setting Up PLM Template on the Wiki, I was able to complete it to this point.

Hopefully, getting all my Insteon switches setup won't be too difficult.
