I am having issues with my fiire chief remote and I wonder is anyone else having the same thing. Basically the cursor drifts so much that it's allmost unusable. I set it down to recalibrate and it works for about 5 seconds and it drifts again. Driver issues? bad remote? bad operator? I have the same issues on my core\hybrid and my media director. I am running 32 bit LMCE 0710 dvd install.

yes there are fresh batteries in it.

Basically, those are indeed gyro clibration issues.
I just set my remote on the table when not in use this way the gyro allways stayes clibrated.
If that doesn't work for you then you remote might be faulty.

Hope this helps

We've seen this too on units we have sold. Because of that we have stopped selling the Fiire remote to customers.

I submitted this issue to Gyration to see what they would say.

Here is the response:
"Hi,
The gyro inside may have deteriorated, so even recalibration doesn't work anymore. There's no fix for that, because it's a hardware failure. Your option is to get another, unfortunately that model is not available from us anymore. You can purchase that from our reseller Cumming & Associates by calling 858-503-1227."

Well I guess I'll have to contact Fiire about it, it's a brand new remote.

Andrew

hey Guys,

Mine which I just rec'd as well. Did that once drifted all the way to the right and stayed there. I unplugged the USB which disabled the device rebooted plugged it back in let lmce re-enable it, then I connected via the connect button on the remote not removing the remote from the table. Then I hit the left mouse button and I saw a 186 remote activated in the left corner of the UI and it then responded as normal and I have not had a problem since, other than I wish there was a way to control the speed of the tracking. I know slower hand movements but it would be nice to sut the response speed in the system.
