Hi,

I'm banging my head trying to get any sound from my ME6000 epia based diskless MD.

I'm running alsaplayer or aplay by hand, alsamixer with all kinds of combinations, tried several scripts (collection of amixer intructions) that should enable sound - and I just get nothing on its output.

I've searched Internet and there are some advices even suggesting to try different bios settings, etc...

Any good howto to do this with epias (my kernel module is snd-via82xx) ?
Any working sound on epia (possibly ME6000) ?

Thanks in advance,

regards,

Rob.

Hi Rob

I had a similar problem after rebuilding kernel on my EPIA M10000.

In my case for some strange reason audio devices were not created anymore during boot, so I couldn't get a single note out of my box no matter of what kind of player I was trying to use.

The solution was (and still is) to modify /etc/init.d/alsa startup script adding a line to execute /usr/share/alsa-base/snddevices (that will create all needed audio devices under /dev).

Actually it is a very basic thing and maybe you have already checked this.

Excluding the above mentioned issue, audio is working fine.
I also use the same module snd-via82xx with no particular settings.
So far I'm using only stereo output, did not try 5.1 or independent audio output.

Hope this helps

Regards
Marco
