Just a small note specific to the Asterisk usage within LinuxMCE.

If I understand the source code correct, the integration with Asterisk is on three levels:
  • CDR in MySQL
  • Manager Interface (via IP address 127.0.0.1)
  • FreePBX to manage the asterisk config files

So yes, dutler, you should be able to put the asterisk part of LinuxMCE onto a different machine, carefully crafting the setup to be identical to the LinuxMCE setup.
