Hi there,

I'm trying to get my raid config to work. I have an Sillicon Image 3132 2 esata pmp ( port multiplier ) card that is connected to an 5 disk array, with 2 x 80 gb disks for the os ( Raid 1 ) and 3 x 500 gb disks for my data ( raid 5 ) this is what i trying to accomplish, for starters i believe that port multiplier is not supported by the recent kernel in lmce, it is supported in 8.04, i managed to install the latest hardy kernel on gutsy, don ask me why but this was only a test case, through this latest hardy kernel i was able to get DMRAID working but i had the dvd version installed ( i386 ) so i couldn't do anything about the os. Mu question is, can someone help out with setting this up or guide me, i read a lot, but it isn't clear for me to use DMRAID or SOFTWARE RAID and how to set it up.

linuxmce OS on 2 x 80 gb disks in RAID 1

DATA on 3x 500 gb disks in RAID 5

Can anybody help me out please.

Thanx a lot
