Hi,
I just moved into a new place that has basic cable (38 channels) no digital cable box, just a cable from the wall.  I installed LinuxMCE and it  saw and automatically configured my WinTV tuner card and is set to use the right ports.  when i run the wizard it says that it "cannot get TV listing from the provider".  I tryed configuring Myth and tested VDR but both dont get a signal.  In the admin web page it shows different options for changing the cable signal, set to auto by default but doesnt have and options to save any changes.

I was wondering if i need a cable box between my cable and LinuxMCE or if there is something i missed. I think it is something really simple but not sure. When I get back home i will check to confirm that it isnt the cable or my Tv tunner card.

Any advise or pointers would greatly help. Thanks

PS Everything eles works like a dream, LinuxMCE ROCKS!!!!!

Hi,  if you are in the US, you need to create an account with http://www.schedulesdirect.org this is a pay service that costs $20 US for the year. After creating an account and getting logged in, add your channel lineup information based on where you live, then after you have all the channels you want to view added/removed log out of your account, re-run setup wizard and when prompted during the "devices configured to receive broadcast media" screen, enter the e-mail address you used to create your schedulesdirect account, and the password you use to log in, it will then contact schedulesdirect, and get your program guide info, and then add it to the chosen tuner input. It will take about 10 minutes for mythfilldatabase to run, and then you will be ready to go.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Seth
