Disk I/O problem
« on: May 28, 2008, 09:41:31 pm »
I have tried to install this media center on 2 PC's both AMD and Intel, with both SATA and IDE harddrives. I have downloaded the ISO twice and the burnt it with 2 different softwares. I keep on getting I/O errors on install. I formated one of the SATA HD with windows and still did not get it to work. where am I going wrong. the motherboards are ECS and ASUS both about a year old with a GB of ram on each.

Are you using the DVD iso? I would suggest burning the disk with another burner at a very slow rate. Other than that I'm at quite a loss at the moment.

Hi.  First I'd like to know if you ran an MD5SUM check on the disks that you downloaded.

Then, can you explain what your failure was?

What happened?  When?

I would like to help but I don't know what the problem is.

Had the same problem.  When I finally bured the ISO to disk at 4x, all worked well and I was able to install.  Burning the ISO at 6x or 8x causes problems.

Hoe that helps
