Hello!

I have a Core/Hybrid working, and want to expand with connecting a coupe of MD's. See my Signature for spec on my Hybrid.

I see that on wiki ASUS GigaX1108N is requmented as the main switch in a LMCE setup see spec here http://www.asus.com/products.aspx?l1=4&l2=20&l3=90&l4=0&model=1050&modelmenu=1

Also looking at Netgear GS608 (low-priced) see info here http://www.netgear.com/Products/Switches/DesktopSwitches/GS608.aspx it looks like GS608 has one protcol more;

IEEE 802.1p (QoS)
Dont know if it means anything...

For the network cards I am looking on PCI-e versions(keep PCI slots for my tuners). Intel have the PRO/1000 PT Desktop Adapter, look here for info http://www.intel.com/network/connectivity/products/pro1000pt_desktop_adapter.htm

DeZen DZ-LCE1000, PCI-Ex1, LAN Card 100/1000MBIT network card(less expencive)  see info here http://www.dezen.eu/produkter/infobox.asp?varenr=1240005&language=UK

For the intel NIC I see that there is a driver for Linux:

This driver is intended for 2.4.18 through 2.6.x kernels.
see here http://downloadcenter.intel.com/filter_results.aspx?strTypes=all&ProductID=2247&OSFullName=Linux*&lang=eng&strOSs=39&submit=Go%21 if that is needed Undecided
