Hi, I am looking into being able to control remote IR devices, I believe it is possible to do this using cat5 network devices which relay the IR signals (as you can probably tell I dont know much about any of this.) I am hoping there may be somebody here who knows about this subject, and more importantly if its something that can be used within LINUXMCE.

thanks
Paul

Hello Paul, Welcome.

LinuxMCE fully supports USBUIRT's out of the box.  If you have a Media Director in that room, you can send it codes natively through LinuxMCE.

If you do NOT have a MD in that room, I would suggest a GC100.  This is a network device that has IR blasting functions.  This device is also natively supported by LinuxMCE.
