Hi the Gyro remotes normal remote functions can be used to control a Sky digibox or a Sky+ box either by using an IR Blaster to send the appropriate codes or by using the Sky boxes control interface (like Sky multiroom remotes do). If you want to record the TV channel that your Sky digibox is tuned to then you need to route the video out of the Sky box and into a video capture card inside your Core - Myth can do this and VDR will be able to shortly.

Hope this helps
