Asterisk dumps core on startup RESOLVED
« on: April 06, 2008, 11:37:30 am »
Hi all,

I cannot start asterisk for some reason. Immediately after starting (either from /etc/init.d/asterisk start, or from a simple asterisk -v), it crashes with a core dump.  :o

I'm assuming that I am the only person having this problem, since no-one else reported on this problem as far as I can tel.

The last few lines (including a few traceback lines) are:

Can I do something to make this work again?

Cheers,

Not a solution, but you could disable module where the problem happens....

Also maybe full log will reveal something useful...

Thanks Bulek.

Yesterday the issue was resolved with some help (a big thank you to Hari!): it turns out that it was related to my newly added Cisco 7970 phone. The problem was that /etc/asterisk/sccp.conf contained leftover lines from earlier attempts to configure the phone. This file does not get cleaned up if you remove a phone using the web panel!

As soon as I cleaned that file manually, the core dump went away!  8)

Cheers,

Mark

Hi,

I'm also expecting 7970 in few days... What are your experiences with it under LMCE ?

Regards,

Bulek.

The orbiter works quite nicely; I can operate my MD and control lighting, all from the touch panel of the phone  8). Outgoing calls work nicely, I have not yet gotten inbound to work. Zaerc posted a fix some time ago for the broken inbound asterisk functionality. It _should_ all work after that, I will probably do that this weekend.

Cheers,
Mark
