zap2it labs is no longer providing channel icons..

MythTV is still trying to download them and the lyngsat channel icons, but is this is only a subset of the icons.

Someone proposed to me that we could preload a bunch of icons if we knew someone with a 704 system with a large set of icons, like someone that gets a large selection of DishNet or DirectTV channels.

Is there anyone here with such a system?

BTW For 804, the MythTV folks are working on a new channel icon service, but it's not completely there yet..

From looking at master_iconmap.xml in MythTV:
  7% lyngsat
 32% zap2it [defunct]
 61% pbs

The PBS ones are individual icons for the various affiliates. So excluding them, about 18% are lyngsat and the 82% zap2it. Now some many of those zap2it icons do have lyngsat equivalents, but I am hoping for a quick solution here short of manually finding equivalent icons at lyngsat.

I just checked in a much updated master_iconmap.xml file.

I need to do a little tweaking of the script that loads the iconmap, but with this new iconmap we should be able to download most of the icons we had in 704 + it updates the iconmap with the new ION, CW and MY networks; these new TV networks replaced the PAX, and WB networks.

The wikipedia was very helpful in making the modifications and finding the missing icons so I owe a debt of gratitude to all the folks that keep that resource current.

How does one check in this master icon set. I too only have like 5 icons, and I have dish network. I would really like to figure out how to get the rest. I seem to remember back in my mythtv days running a command like
 mythfilldatabse --import-icon-map channels.xml
or something like that. I guess the question is where to get the channels.xml file?
