Would it be possible to add support for watching Joost within LinuxMCE?  I'm not sure of the technical barriers that would have to be met, but it seems like a valuable addition to LinuxMCE.

They don't have Linux version at all, protocol is closed. I doubt there will be support for it in the near future.

How about Miro? Not what jammastercd asked for, but as far as I know (and I don't know much, as I have not used either  Wink ) its almost the same thing.

we should not be trying to jam inconsistent UIs onto the system, but rather, try to take the functionality, and meld it into the existing UI.

To this end, an RSS torrent aggregator, and downloader could be written for the system with the first pass taking roughly about two week's worth of work.

I agree with you on not trying to add all sorts of different UI elements. It should be consistent for the user.

A RSS reader would be nice on it self also, I suppose.

Living with LMCE

Hi,

I'm also leaning toward backend features - RSS downloader is something desperately needed. It just saves files into normal media directories, and you can take a look from LMCE ui.

I even use Mythtv mainly as recording backend - it just records files in the background - my family members really don't like to have different UIs...

HTH,

Bulek.
