Cannot Choose Correct Resolution
« on: February 29, 2008, 04:58:02 am »
Hello,
I have an ATI X1600 with a Sanyo 28" LCD TV. I'm outputting through DVI to the HDMI port with an adapter. When I get to the AVWizard in resolution settings, I choose DVI and 720p (the tv is capable of full 720p). The screen goes blank and says "No Input" and then I have to restart! I have managed to get into the desktop, but the resolution is 640x480@60 Hertz. If I try to change the resolution, it takes me back to the AVWizard! I installed off of the CD's and the TV worked just fine in Kubuntu (except some overscan) at 1280x720 (same as 720p, right?). Does anyone know how to fix this?
Thanks,
Mikael

Don't you love it when things like this fix themselves? I decided to try it again and the screen went blank again. Instead of turning it off, I just left it on. After about 15 minutes, it worked! I don't know why the huge delay is there, but I got the right resolution!
Thanks,
Mikael
