What can WE do ...
« on: February 05, 2008, 06:00:11 pm »
... to get our devices working? :)

If I'm not mistaken you need to create a seperate "driver" for LMCE (even if linux can work with it, maybe lmce can't, right?) so what do we need to do to help you get our devices working? (and then I'm talking about my Antec fusion's VFD and IR receiver and my remote control and such, ...)

it really depends on the device and the interface to it. The Generic Serial Device is a nice generic driver that supports ruby scripting. Some examples of lmce devices ("drivers") for that:
Lightning (Insteon, PLCBUS, ..)
Network Cameras (Axis, D-Link, Panasonic, ..)
AV Receivers (Marantz, Yamaha, Denon, ...)
many more

of course you also need linux drivers in some situations (usb to serial adapters, ...)

Hmm, gues I'll have to wait for some more documentation to come out, 'cause I can't make heads or tails of this thing ...

Does hte device location (the *actual* device, err, /dev/lcd0) also have to be scripted in ruby?)

I fear there are just waay too many textboxes, checkboxes, templates, ... to know about for the "end user" to be able to use this :P Especially without documentation...
