I installed 7.10 beta 3 amd64 on the core and everything is flawless.  BUT, the dreaded but, I can't install the additional software; libcss, HD ripping tools and  64 bit codecs for windows video software.  On the Core I could install these software packages but the 64 bit MD will not.  I get a Download for valid source for software failed.

Network is up and running properly.  Internet OK and accessable from the MD.
I am having the same problem but can manually install by

from
http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Restricted_Software_Installation_Guide
in a terminal
sudo apt-get install -y libdvdread3
sudo /usr/share/doc/libdvdread3/install-css.sh

then install debhelper and fakeroot as prompted.

I have installed 0710 Beta 3 AMD64 version on my core. Yesterday I tried to add a 32bit MD. But it wasn't detected automatically. The MD boots till message "We introduce to core" or similar appeared on its screen. After the installation procedure stopped. I didn't see any messages on the core on-screen. So, I added the MD manually using admin interface (specified i386 as architecture, of course). Is it problem of Beta 3 or AMD64 core and i386 MD?

Another problem. During installation I chose UI2 medium. But instead of buttons and other graphical elements I see the white screen only. However, when I pressed button --> on the keyboard I was able to see red rounded buttons. The MD is based on  Intel 945GM+ICH7M-DH graphical chipset. Any idea how to run UI2 on Intel video card?

Thanks in advance.

If you installed from CD then you should only be able to add amd64 clients.  A possible work-around might be to copy PlutoMD-i386.tar.bz2 from the diskless-images/ directory of a beta3 dvd to /usr/pluto/install/.

Dan, what was the missing file??  Is this any way related to xterm being missing?

No, I made installation from DVD. So, I'd like to now is it some bug which doesn't allow to add i386MD to the AMD64 core automatically or I do something wrong.

Hmmm, I guess we can rule that problem out then.  I don't use the DVD installer myself but I have managed to setup an i386 MD on a amd64 Core (CD-install) that way so it should be doable (didn't test all functionality though).  Took a while though so make sure you give it plenty of time.

Also about setting up the intel graphics chipset, did you look at this: http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Display_Drivers#Intel_Chipsets?

I waited about 10 minutes. I suspect it should be enough to introduction :) But after I added MD manually it booted fine.

Thanks for that link. I tried to find something using specified chip model.
