(Have vote) Haven't ordered anything just yet, but I think I will any day now... It would totally rock to get this implemented in LMCE!!

Well, it looks like people want to see a driver first... Heh, I don't blame you...

Ok, Hari, When you get your equipment, let me know asap.  I haven't started yet, but I can steal a bunch of code from my Insteon driver.

First, we'll just confirm we can send out and that all communication is working... we'll choose a device address, and hard code it into a command.

Then, we'll send the command, and see if the light turns on..

We can experiment with that for a bit, then implement it into Process Receive Command for Child cmds:192(on)/193(off)/184(SetLevel)

This should go pretty quick, as I've already done most of the code for Insteon.

Next, we'll implement the other direction, press ON on the light switch, and see if we can read data in ruby.

I'm sure once you see how I do it, you'll pick up on it and catch on pretty quick..

Later..

Sounds like it will be a joint effort ;-)

I'd like to make sure that all the code under development by you and others gets tested, polished and eventually into the build server. I would see that as a target at least.

Most definately,

I wouldn't have it any other way...

Who would do the in-house testing? and would they be able to test BOTH insteon and PLCBUS?

just checking...

Well in the case of technologies that only 'play' well in a specific part of the world I guess it makes sense for the developer & some suitable equipped testers also in that part of the world to do the testing/debugging. I guess Insteon is an example of that... its has to be someone in N.America who does the testing/feedback, same goes for our work on VDR... has to be done where you can receive a DVB signal. For PLCBUS its less constrained... same for z-wave (we have tons of that at my company setup for testing ;-) )

I wouldn't mind beta testing the plcbus driver as soon as I've bought some hardware.

Are there any Swedes here that want to try making a group order from the Chinese manufacturer? I got it that a few 10 devices + could give some form of nice discount.
