Anyone know a PC adapter for Jung Funk Gira?
« on: December 22, 2007, 01:19:23 pm »
I have a Jung Funk RF remote that controls a the lights in my apartment.
Look like this: http://ww2.jung.de/products/FM/fm.htm?uid=&ukey=&lang=h

The hand held remote to the left, and the wall mounted remote on the right.

In the entrance and in the living room there are wall mounted receivers from Gira and on top of them there is a button to turn on/off and dim. They look like regular light switches. In the entrance there is also a mini remote that also control the lights. The remote here looks like a part of the button above but if I pull the frame of, the frame is just held by the button that connects to the Gira receiver in the wall. The remote uses its own CR2032 lithium battery.

Anything I find on Jung Funk or Gira is in German. I don't understand anything without Google translations and those get kind of funny but is not very helpful in finding what I need.

I'm not sure, but this system could be EIB. Anyone know?

I'm hoping to find a RF adapter for use with LinuxMCE. USB or Serial.

jura produces EIB products, too. If it's some simple 433 mhz solution it may be possible to use those ir repeater "eggs" as kind of a ir/rf bridge (works for intertechno). But i assume it's EIB over RF, so that simple repeater won't work. It features some western jack that may be used to interface with it in the future:

The system in my home is RF only.

I detached the wallmounted remote and found a text that said "Instabus EIB".
That confirmes that it is EIB.

So now I'm looking for a RF adapter for EIB that is either USB or Serial...

Googling for Instabus EIB there is a lot more hits. Not much in english or other languages I understand. But I did find this PDF wich shows a few units. If only I understood all the text that is in that file...
