Data Problems: Pictures and Documents
« on: November 15, 2007, 09:21:16 pm »
Hello everybody!

I've searched the forums and couldn't find any solution to my problems.

My LinuxMCE installation went well and all of my video/audio files were found :)

1. Pictures
On orbiter picture page > Pictures - I get the flicker button and the button for my HDD. When I click on the HDD it opens to an empty page - nothing after it. Only the "play - delete - close" selections for the HDD.

2. Documents
On the orbiter main page - when I click on "documents" - nothing happens.

- In BOTH cases the pictures and document files are found beaufifully in the admin website (media sync).

I am puzzled!

Any ideas? Think something didn't install correctly?

Thanks for any feedback.

You call those problems? ;)

Ok seriously now, can you find pictures under "flickr" and view them?  I haven't put any pictures on my core, but I can view those.  And did you put your own pictures under /home/public/data/pictures/?

The "Docs" button doesn't do anything for me either, that might be not implemented, or a bug, I don't know.  It's not been a big priority for me.

There are screens (according to me basically sending screen commands to the orbiter) to display a UI for it, but there is no functionality for the Documents media type.

Would be nice to tie that in with KDE's openoffice I reckon.

Thanks to all for the input.

@Zaerc

Yes to all of your questions.

------

I have since installed MCE on a different machine and it found the photos. There is only a very basic display. Nonetheless it works!

As tschak said - no function yet for the docs.....though it would be a useful tool!
Especially when the docs are found and stored in the pluto db.

Next problem to tackle: MythTV (channel fine tuning, 2 channel stereo sound)
