In trying to install my Dish Network PVR501 and get the USB-UIRT to work with it, I have come across a bit of a problem.  LinuxMCE says that it has no support for the PVR501 so I have to create a new codeset. When trying to learn new codes, LinuxMCE indicates that the code has been learned but the actual code is not written into the text window.  Has anyone had this problem before and is there a work around?  Or, is there another utility that can be used to learn the codes and allows for cut and paste the data?

The USB-UIRT website has a windows based program (called lrnhelper.exe I think) in their support section with which you can capture the pronto codes one by one in text format.  I captured the pertinent ones, but I haven't had a chance to try them yet.  Hope this helps.
