Just wondering if anyone has tried to implement my media player of choice, VLC?

It's not possible for the moment since it is not available on the repository,
I tried looking at using vlc and vdr and i'm know trying to build lmce so i'll be able to have those packages.

However compilling the lot does seem to be a stright forward task yet.

I'll let you know if i manage to get those debs built.

You could install the VLC packages from Ubuntu repositories, but as no one has yet written a DCE aware wrapper for it, it won't respond to commands from the LinuxMCE UI.
