The Hardware used in the video can be found here: http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Video#Equipment_used_in_the_demo

The remote you refer to is from Fiire.
But there are many others that can be used as well...

Half-Man.  The best (cheapest, too) remote is the Gyration GYR3101US remote.  I just bought oneThere is an easy WIKI install.  Bought it from Circuit City for 36 bucks.

We currently do not have a complete mapping for the Gyration remote....

The Fiire remote that you saw in the video works perfectly, including follow me. you can get that from http://www.fiire.com/ .. well worth the money.

jvaughn - Check this link out: http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Gyration-Universal-Remote-Control-for-PC-GYR3101US/sem/rpsm/oid/178884/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do

Yes, it is $36.

tschak909 is correct about the incomplete mapping.  The seems to be an issue with the PageUp and PageDown mapping, but I haven't missed those functions -- yet.
Maybe there are other buttons not mapped that I have yet to discover.  Still better than the WIImote and way cheaper than the fiire remote.

We are working on full support of the Wiimote, as a first class device.

Along this same line, do any of the Logitech Harmony remotes work well with LinuxMCE?  I am considering buying one and would like to use it for everything on my A/V rack.  Thanks.

you guys just don't get it...

you don't need the cluster-fuck of the Harmony remotes with LMCE, because if you properly set up LMCE with the IR emitters etc, you can control ALL The _AV_ gear... _ALL_ of it... and not need to hassle with flipping modes, everything is seamless across all the remotes and orbiters in the house!

*hmm*

If you get stuck or it still works out worthwhile you can use
http://www.priceusa.com.au/

I used them to get a chumby (www.chumby.com) as they don't ship to Australia.
The service was good and I have no problem recommending them.

I've tried ordering this from the Circuit City web site today (Aug 2, 2008) and it says it's currently unavailable. hmm... day late, $1 short.  Angry
