I've had a media PC for some time, but as I got tired of a lot of issues in Windows MCE as well as other HTPC shells, I decided to give Linux MCE a try.

The problem: Well, lots. For starters, I'm a complete Linux newbie. Second: the sound card. The sound card is a Terratec Aureon 7.1 dolby digital live. It's connected to a DTS capable receiver via SPDIF TOSlink.

At the sound setup pages, the following happens:

  • The stereo sound is not heard.
  • The Dolby digital music plays just fine.
  • The DTS sound is not heard.
I have no idea where to begin to look, so if anyone could give me some pointers, I'd be very grateful.
