S-Video and a Widescreen CRT TV
« on: October 25, 2007, 01:19:13 pm »

Hi All,

Firstly, I'm running Kubunut 7.04 + linuxmce 0704

I'm using a Geforce FX5200 vid card which plugs into my Widescreen CRT TV via s-video.
I select s-video during setup, then I select PAL (since I'm in Australia) - the final output resolution is 640x480; therefore not widescreen.

How can I make LinuxMCE use a widescreen resolution using s-video. Should I try some custom resolutions?

Thanks!
-Pete

I wondered about this myself when I was setting up a MediaDirector which uses a CRT TV (via Svideo).
For me it was not really an issue as the TV is 4:3, but I thought that there should be Widescreen PAL options.

You should be able to try out some widescreen options using the web admin page for the Media Director. Check what resolutions your TV can handle (from its manual/user guide) and give those a go.
